Restrictions on Carrying Liquids into the Cabin of International Flights
Thank you very much for always using Ishigaki Airport.
For international flights, liquids (including lotions, toothpaste, gels, creams, and other paste-like substances) must be placed in a "transparentplastic bag with a zipper (such as a Ziploc bag)".
*This is not required for checked baggage.
*Items subject to this rule include miso, jam, tebichi (pork trotters), mozuku seaweed, and more. The list of applicable items is extensive. Please be sure to check for yourself.
When using international flights at Ishigaki Airport, please note the following two points.
-
① Currently, "Zip-lock plastic bags" are not sold inside the airport.
-
② Currently, Ishigaki Airport's international terminal does not have "Smart Lanes" where liquids can be screened while remaining in your luggage. During screening, you will be required to remove plastic bags containing liquids from your luggage.
If you exceed the carry-on limits or do not have a plastic bag, the screening process may be delayed, and you may be required to dispose of liquid items such as souvenirs on the spot.
If you plan to bring liquids on board, please be sure to prepare a plastic bag at home or at a nearby store in advance, and bring it with you to the airport.
